If you’re experiencing itching and biting on your skin, you might have Morgellons disease. The first thing that you’ll most likely do is go to your doctor. But, Morgellons is one disease doctors don’t know about. They don’t know how to tell you to control your environment. They don’t know how to tell you to bathe. They don’t know what to tell you to eat. And what’s worse, they don’t know how to treat Morgellons. Nevertheless, you’ll go to the doctor first and may even be surprised that he/she will tell you that its all in your head—your imagination.
Not only doesn’t your doctor know about morgellons, but he/she also doesn’t know about the other skin parasites like collembola and strongyloides stercoralis which product similar itching and biting sensations. Now I’m not talking about a little itch, I’m talking abut relentless itching accompanied by biting that feels like your nerves are being grabbed.
I first encountered these monsters in the mid 90’s before the word “Morgellons” was coined in 2002. I had acquired my problem from a dust cloud descending upon me while pulling vines from a tree in my back yard. Within four days of that experience I, as well as my significant other, were itching like crazy. The only relief was a near scalding bath that provided relief for a few hours.
That was the beginning of “hell” in my life and it profoundly changed my life for over a decade. Initially I was able to obtain relief from the symptoms with massive dosages of garlic, but after a while even that didn’t help. Fortunately that wasn’t the end of my story for I next discovered a connection between what I ate and the degree of itching and biting. Using an elimination diet I expanded my foods from eggs to a whole host of foods and was able to control my symptoms. But it was a very strict and limiting diet.
My next bit of fortune was to actually find a doctor who had a faint knowledge of these skin parasites and with his medical treatment, I was able to expand my diet to even include home-made ice cream—most commercial ice creams had ingredients that activated the parasites. Professionally I specialized in stress techniques for personal growth and personal change. I counseled hundreds of people in dealing with all kinds of stress related issues and specialized in attitude adjustment, e.g. half full vs. half empty. But nothing in my arsenal of stress strategies prepared me to deal with the parasitic scourge of skin parasites. I soon discovered what it felt like to be hopeless and consider suicide. I could not see any possibility of experiencing any personal growth or change with morgellons.
At first when the word “morgellons” was coined I assumed that I had morgellons disease and so did many others who I had been coaching in the diet which I named “The King DietSM. Then there was a fellow who was trying to convince everyone that morgellons disease didn’t exist, but instead we were all suffering from strongyloides stercoralis—a worm. And then there were other people talking about feeling invisible things jumping on their legs that were thought to be “spring tails” or commonly known as collembola.
After careful evaluation and laboratory testing I came to realize that I did not have morgellons disease, but instead a combination of collembola and strongyloides stercoralis Taking what I knew from my personal experiences and communicating with hundreds of other parasites sufferers I compiled a book in 2006 titled, Soothing the Itch Within and The Diet to Control It. The good news was that the diet worked for all three types of skin parasites.
I also came to discover that even though some symptoms such as itching, biting, black specs, sand-like particles, and lesions were common for all three types of skin parasites, there were other symptoms specific to each parasite. For instance, only collembola is characterized by the feeling of something jumping on one’s ankles. And only morgellons is characterized by the growth of fluorescent fibers from the skin, cotton-like balls, and a lower body temperature. Strongyloides is identified by the absence of the symptoms that are specific to collembola and morgellons’ disease.
What was confusing, depressing, and even led me to the thought of suicide in the mid 90’s through the discovery of diet, medications, specific enzymes and nutrients, a glutathione accelerator has become manageable issues—but don’t expect your doctor to know about these advances.
I revised my book in 2011 and again in 2012 with a new name, How to Take Your Life Back From Morgellons and Other Skin Parasites in which specific environmental, bathing, medical, nutritional, and dietary directions are given for each type of skin parasite. Ultimately I had become one of the first individuals to get as close to being cured as one could get and demonstrated the reproducibility that ability four of five times over the course of ten years and my initial despair nearly twenty years ago has given way to my own personal growth and change in a healthy way.
